One thanksgiving my mother marveled at how it takes several days to prepare for the Thanksgiving meal and only an hour or two for us to all eat it and slip into a turkey coma. We invest money and time into our cars, knowing that one day even the best cared for car will fall to pieces and find its place in a junkyard. We even invest hours into our diet and exercise, caring for our body with a great deal of time and effort. These investments are all important and positive investments of time. However, there is an investment that we can make that will never pass away. The word of God will never pass away. We will still be talking about it in the New Jerusalem, marveling at the amazing God revealed in it. That is a good investment.
