Time Troubles

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9 NASB

Young children are wonderful because they have nearly no concept of time.  As soon as they hear about Christmas they will wake up each morning asking "Is it Christmas yet?"  It is a pleasure to see them revel in the season and look forward each moment to the joys of Christmas day.  This difficulty understanding time only highlights their problems of perspective and patience.  When we look at the last 2,000 years it is easy to think that they Lord may have forgotten His promise, and many find this to challenge their faith.  Yet the Lord is the only One with a valid perspective of time, and He will return for us at exactly the right time.  It is our part to wake each morning and say, "Is it today?  Will I get to see the Lord face to face today?  I hope so!"
