Facts about Babies

...like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
1 Peter 2:2 NASB

On Sunday, January 29th Atticus Jeffrey was born.  April and I were quickly reminded of one important fact:  Babies cry.  When a Atticus is hungry he begins crying and shrieking, whining and hollering until his need is met.  Even though every parent could imagine a life with a little less crying the reality is that crying is something a healthy baby does when he is hungry.  The thing that strikes me is the intensity of a baby's cries.  That is exactly the intensity that Peter was talking about when he encourages believers to "long" for the pure milk of the word.  We need to take in the word; in our private devotions, and in our corporate times together!  Every time you hear a baby cry I hope you examine that baby and long to imitate his or her desire for the pure milk of the word of God!
